In addition, bring a collapsible water bowl and water with you on any excursion, especially in the

heat of summer.

On especially hot days, bring extra water and a cold pack or two in case pup gets overheated and needs to cool down.

Here are some of the basic items you should keep in your travel pet first aid kit:

• A soft muzzle or materials you can use to make a muzzle (like a bandana).

• VetWrap (bandages that cling to themselves).

• Gauze wrap and pads.

• Ace bandage.

• Dog waste bags.

• Latex gloves.

• Blunt ended scissors to cut tape, leashes and collars if necessary.

• Adhesive tape.

• Tweezers.

• Antiseptic wipes.

• Styptic powder.

• Rescue Remedy.

• Spare emergency leash.

• Ziploc bags.

• Copies of your pet’s vaccination records, medications, and any known allergies.

• Photo of your pet, microchip number.

• Fully charged cell phone.
