FAIRFIELD, Maine — An elderly Brunswick man involved in a camper rollover on Interstate 95 on Sunday will not face charges, state police said Monday.

Paul Adams, 83, was heading southbound near mile marker 134 when an apparent mechanical failure caused him to lose control, Maine State Police Sgt. Blaine Bronson said.

The sergeant said speed or negligence were not factors in the accident. Adams was not seriously injured and was treated at the scene.

Adams was towing the 32-foot camper behind his pickup truck when the accident occurred around 10:30 a.m.

The camper came to rest across the highway and blocked traffic for much of the day Sunday.
