GRAY, Maine — National Weather Service officials are surveying damage from recent storms in York County, caused in part by what was a confirmed tornado.

The weather service said the survey is in relation to thunderstorms that rumbled through the state Monday.

The weather service confirmed Tuesday afternoon a small tornado touched down in the York County town of Limington.

The twister’s maximum wind speed was clocked at 80 mph, with a width of 80 yards and a length of 300 yards.

Nobody was injured as a result of the tornado.
