RANDOLPH, Maine — A man robbed a Water Street pharmacy Monday morning, according to police.
Chief Deputy Ryan Reardon of the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office said the robbery was reported shortly after 9 a.m.
Reardon said a lone robber handed a pharmacist at the Community Pharmacy, which shares the same building as Goggin’s IGA, a threatening note stating he had a gun.
Although no weapon was displayed, the robber did have a hand in his pocket and the note suggested he would shoot everyone in the store if he did not get drugs.
The suspect, who fled on foot, is about 5’ 11”, weighs between 160 and 170 pounds and was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, a dirty white hat, sunglasses and bluejeans, Reardon said. He got away with an undisclosed amount of opiates.
Reardon said Kennebec County sheriff’s deputies and state police are investigating the incident. Police are working towards obtaining video surveillance.
