DURHAM, Maine — A sport utility vehicle involved in a police chase last week was located in Durham on Friday and the alleged driver charged, police said.
The purple Chevrolet Tracker was found behind a home on the Leighton Road, according to Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.
The vehicle was located by Trooper Jodell Wilkinson, McCausland said.
The vehicle’s owner, Wayne King, of Waldoboro, was charged with aggravated operation of a motor vehicle after suspension and eluding a police officer, McCausland said.
King was arrested on Sept. 2 on charges not related to the chase. He was found hiding in the storage area of a Lewiston apartment house, McCausland said.
