Season guest Matt Boutwell got out of the gate quickly during the first week of the 49th BDN Football Forecast.
Boutwell racked up a 19-1 record to grab a one-game lead over defending champion Ryan McLaughlin and Larry Mahoney, both of whom went 18-2 in Week 1.
Guest Brandon Portwine, the director of baseball at Sluggers in Brewer and an assistant baseball coach at Husson University, posted a 16-4 card.
This week’s guest is Chris Binder, who works for XOS Digital in Wilmington, Massachusetts. He prepares scouting reports for college and professional football and hockey teams.
Binder is a 1993 graduate of Bangor High School and later earned a degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education at the University of Maine. He was a place-kicker for the Rams and the Black Bears.
Binder began his career as a football coach at UMaine, Toledo and Indiana State. He then moved into the sports video business before returning to New England to join XOS Digital.
The 39-year-old Binder, who is a Florida native, is single and lives in Maynard, Massachusetts.
