AUGUSTA, Maine — Two Augusta police officers involved in a motorcycle accident earlier this month continue to recover, according to Deputy Chief Jared Mills.
Augusta Police Chief Robert Gregoire is focusing on rehabilitation, according to Mills. Sgt. Christopher Shaw and Gregoire’s wife, Cathy, were also involved in the accident, Mills said.
Shaw and Cathy Gregoire continue to heal on their own while the chief continues to rehab at an undisclosed hospital, according to Mills.
“Everyone involved in the crash is progressing, healing and improving,” Mills said.
The trio were injured during a charity motorcycle ride in Jay. Gregoire had lost control on wet pavement and Shaw, who was riding behind Gregoire, laid his bike down to avoid the accident.
