BANGOR — Husson University will hold 15, one-day basketball clinics throughout the school year for boys and girls in grades three through eight. The clinics will focus on skill development such as ball handling, footwork, shooting, passing, along with other basic skills and concepts. HOCKEY

BREWER — Brewer Youth hockey is accepting registrations for its Learn to Skate/Learn to Play Hockey sessions. There will be two 12-week sessions. Participants can sign up for one session or both. Sessions will be held on Sundays at 12:40 p.m. The first session will be Oct. 19 at the Penobscot Ice arena located at 90 Acme Rd. The cost is $75 a session. The second session starts Jan. 11. ROCKLAND — A 5K Run/Walk along Midcoast Maine in Rockland will raise money on Sept. 27 for The Maine Cancer Foundation and the “Energy 4 Life,” program which helps those locally dealing with cancer in memory of Karen Ware. There will be age and gender divisions. There are opportunities for sponsors to have their names on the T-shirts and entries in the race. CAMDEN — The first Forest Priestley Memorial 5K race at Camden Hills Regional High School will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, on Homecoming Weekend, in memory of the CHRHS student who died in June. A new scholarship fund in memory of Forest will be established through donations and proceeds from the race; and proceeds from the race entries will benefit a new trail development fund. TRIATHLON

ORONO — 35th Black Bear Triathlon, Oct. 5, at UMaine, 6:30 a.m. to noon, sponsored by UMaine Campus Recreation and sanctioned by USA Triathlon, held from 6:30 a.m. to noon. It will feature a 525-yard swim in UMaine’s Wallace Pool, and a 12.5-mile bike race and 3.1-mile run along the UMaine trails and local roadways. Open to athletes ages 16 and older; event features a relay component for teams of two or three athletes. Registration fee is $50; $40 for UMaine students; $75 for teams.
