MILO, Maine — A Florida woman visiting family in Maine was taken to a Bangor hospital on Wednesday afternoon for treatment of back pain after a two-vehicle accident on Elm Street.

The injured woman, Joyce McDuffie, was a passenger in a 2014 Dodge Charger driven by Welbourne McDuffie, a relative from Milo who is his 60s, Milo Police Chief Damien Pickel said. Welbourne McDuffie was not injured.

Joyce McDuffie’s age was not immediately available, Pickel said.

According to Pickel, the accident happened about 4 p.m. when the driver of the Dodge pulled onto Elm Street from a turnout near Rhoda’s Bridge and collided with a 2010 Ford Mustang driven by Diane Larson of Milo, whose age was not available early Wednesday evening. Neither Larson nor her passenger, Coleen Devin, suffered injuries, the chief said.

Pickel said all four people involved in the collision were wearing seat belts and that no charges are pending.
