BRUNSWICK, Maine — A Brunswick motorcyclist who police say led them on a chase on Oct. 2 was arrested Thursday afternoon at his home and charged with crimes that include eluding an officer.
David Stoddard, 43, allegedly eluded police the morning of Oct. 2, driving a blue Suzuki motorcycle recklessly on Route 1 between West Bath and Bath, according to Chief Deputy Brett Strout of the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office. He then exited at Cook’s Corner and headed onto Thomas Point Road, where police called off the chase.
Deputies located his motorcycle later that day behind the Brunswick Walmart.
He was charged with eluding an officer, a felony, as well as aggravated operating after habitual offender revocation, criminal speed, attaching false plates, improper passing and refusal to sign a violation summons or complaint.
Stoddard was released from Two Bridges Jail in Wiscasset on bail. The amount of bail and a court date were not immediately available.
