OLD TOWN, Maine — Two men were arrested on Wednesday after allegedly breaking into a building used by the Old Town High School booster club, according to police.
Benjamin Underhill, 21, of Corinth, and Morgan York, 23, of Old Town, are each facing a Class C felony charge of burglary, Old Town police Sgt. Michael Hashey said.
Hashey said that just before 4 a.m. Tuesday, Officer Keith Emery noticed suspicious activity near a Center Street business while conducting nightly business checks.
Emery located Underhill hiding in some bushes while York fled the area on foot, according to Hashey.
Investigative efforts revealed the pair had broken into a building used as a concession stand by Old Town High’s booster club during sporting events, according to Hashey, and more than $400 in candy, food and clothing had been stolen.
A state police canine was used to track York, and he was located by Old Town police officer Jim Fearon and taken into custody, Hashey said.
Both men were transported to the Penobscot County Jail. Orono and state police assisted in the investigation.
