BANGOR, Maine — Crews from Emera Maine and Central Maine Power are closing in on restoring power to all customers who lost it during last weekend’s snowstorm.

Shortly after 3 p.m. Friday, Emera Maine reported 2,847 customers remained without power.

Power has been restored to more than 50,000 customers since Monday, and more than 4,000 had service restored on Thursday, according to a company statement.

According to Central Maine Power’s website, just over 100 customers were without power Friday afternoon, down from more than 80,000 on Monday.

Crews are keeping a close eye on a forecast that could see northern Maine receive up to a foot of snow, and Emera Maine’s storm response team are preparing trucks and equipment.

Emera Maine has used more than 400 external field workers and has had to replace more than 80 broken or damaged utility poles. The company is hopeful to reconnect as many customers as possible on Friday.
