WINTERPORT, Maine — A Winterport father and his two sons all ended up cooling their heels at Waldo County Jail on Sunday evening after the mother called police to report that the sons were drinking and giving her a hard time.
The sons, Jason Fogg, 24, and Allen Fogg, 26, were under bail conditions from a previous offense that stipulated they are not allowed to drink alcohol, according to Chief Deputy Jeff Trafton of the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office.
The mother called police at about 5:20 p.m. Sunday from her Boston Road residence to say that, in addition to drinking alcohol, the brothers were threatening to smash her vehicle. She drove down the road to call for help getting them out of the house, and by the time deputies Kyle Wasiela and Wiley McVety arrived, the brothers had left, Trafton said.
The deputies decided to wait in the area, “because it often happens that things flare up,” Trafton said. A few minutes after the deputies left the home, the mother called back to say that her sons were returning. Wasiela and McVety found their father, Albert Fogg, in the driveway with his pickup truck. The 50-year-old Fogg got into a scuffle with the deputies, Trafton said.
“They ended up forcefully taking him to the ground and handcuffing him,” he said.
The elder Fogg was charged with hindering apprehension, while the sons both were charged with violation of conditions of release. Albert Fogg has been released on bail but the sons remained in jail Monday morning.
Information on the prior offense committed by the Foggs was not immediately available Monday.
