FRANKLIN, Maine — An Eastbrook woman was flown by LifeFlight to a Boston hospital after suffering severe injuries when her sedan collided with a van on Route 200 on Saturday, police said.
The woman, whose name was not released, suffered a broken pelvis, punctured lung and compound fracture to her left leg in the 10 a.m. accident. She was taken by ambulance to Maine Coast Hospital before being flown by LifeFlight to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor and then flown again to Boston, said Hancock County Sheriff’s Deputy Jake Day, who didn’t know the name of that hospital.
The woman was driving her sedan east on Route 200 about a mile north of Route 182 when a van heading west crossed the center line for an unknown reason, Day said. The van driver, a man from Caanan, suffered minor injuries and was listed in stable condition at Maine Coast Hospital, Day said.
The accident remains under investigation but was bolstered by cooperation from several witnesses, Day said.
