TROY, New Hampshire — Police released the name of a Keene man who died Monday when he was crushed beneath heavy equipment.
Kenneth C. Valenti Jr., owner of K&L Lawn Care on North Main Street in Troy, was killed when attempting to remove tires from the equipment, according to a news release from Troy Police Chief David Ellis Jr.
A short obituary sent to The Keene Sentinel says Valenti was 42.
Police and fire personnel received a 911 call from the family business Monday at 2:30 p.m.
What caused the payloader to fall on Valenti is under investigation by the Troy Police Department and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
The incident was an accident, police said.
No other employees of K&L Lawn Care were injured in the incident, Ellis wrote in the news release.
Edmund Fitzgerald, an OSHA spokesman, said Tuesday that an inspector went to the scene Monday, and that OSHA will be looking into whether there were any workplace safety violations.
