CORNISH, Maine — A local man was arrested Friday morning after allegedly threatening to kill his girlfriend, according to police.
The trouble between Eric Borgeson-Amico, 25, and the woman started when he allegedly accused her of cheating on him, according to Chief Deputy William King of the York County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident was reported shortly before 3 a.m., according to King.
The verbal dispute between Borgeson-Amico and the woman escalated to the point at which he allegedly pushed her and banged her head against a wall, King said.
In addition, he allegedly held a knife to the woman’s throat, threatened to kill her and attempted to force her into their vehicle, insisting she drive him to the suspected paramour’s residence, King said.
The woman refused, and police arrived to them arguing and the woman in the driver’s seat crying, with visible marks of an assault on her face, King said.
Borgeson-Amico was charged with aggravated assault, causing bodily injury with a dangerous weapon and kidnapping and was taken to the York County Jail.
Bail has not been set.
