STOCKTON SPRINGS, Maine — A local man was arrested and charged with domestic violence assault over the weekend after getting into an argument with his domestic partner and allegedly grabbing her by the throat.
The woman called 911 Sunday night to report the domestic disturbance. She told the operator that Christopher Raymond, 28, of Stockton Springs, had threatened to harm her if she called for help, according to a police report from the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies Cody Laite and Kyle Wasiela came to the home and spoke with Raymond, who told them he and the woman only had been in a verbal argument. But when police spoke to the woman, she told them that the argument had turned physical when Raymond grabbed her by the throat, according to the police report.
“When confronted about the allegation, Mr. Raymond confirmed that this had happened,” the report stated.
He was taken to the Waldo County Correctional Center, where he was charged with Class D domestic assault and Class D domestic terrorizing. He was released on $100 cash bail.
