Forward David Pastrnak was recalled by the Boston Bruins from the Providence Bruins and was with the team for Tuesday’s practice at TD Garden.

Pastrnak appeared in five games for Boston, including his NHL debut against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Nov. 24. The forward picked up his first NHL point and assist on Dec. 1, when he assisted on Brad Marchand’s second period goal against the Anaheim Ducks.

Suzuki not retiring

Ichiro Suzuki does not plan to retire and could get a minor-league deal from the Miami Marlins or the Baltimore Orioles.

Suzuki is 156 hits shy of 3,000 for his career. Suzuki turned 41 in October. He batted .284 with 15 steals in 142 games for the Yankees in 2014.

Both teams are monitoring the status of the former Mariners and Yankees outfielder. Miami has a young, talented outfield but could view Suzuki as a pinch hitter and pinch runner when he isn’t in the lineup.

Pacers’ Watson receives flopping fine

Indiana Pacers guard C.J. Watson was fined $5,000 by the NBA on Tuesday after a second violation this season of the league’s anti-flopping rules.

The infraction took place with 7:07 left in the first quarter of the Pacers’ 105-101 victory over the Utah Jazz on Monday night in Salt Lake City.

Watson received a first warning for flopping after the Pacers’ Dec. 26 game against the Detroit Pistons. The 30-year-old veteran is averaging 10.9 points and 4.1 assists for the Pacers this season.

Seahawks place DT Hill on injured reserve

RENTON, Wash. — The Seattle Seahawks’ defensive line took a hit with tackle Jordan Hill placed on injured reserve Tuesday with a sprained knee.

Hill, a second-year player out of Penn State, had been emerging with increased playing time following Brandon Mebane’s season-ending injury. Hill sprained his knee against St. Louis last week and while coach Pete Carroll indicated Hill had not been ruled out for Carolina, his knee injury is clearly significant with the team opting to sign Landon Cohen on Monday and shelve Hill for the season a day later.

With Hill out, second-year player David King is in line for increased snaps behind Kevin Williams and Tony McDaniel.
