BANGOR, Maine — A former Canaan man pleaded guilty Friday in U.S. District Court to conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute and to distribute cocaine and oxycodone.
Court records indicated that Frank Curtis, 35, conspired with Maurice McCray, William Waters and others in the Waterville area to obtain cocaine and oxycodone from out-of-state dealers, bring it to central Maine and then distribute it, U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II said in a news release.
Curtis faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1 million, Delahanty said. He will be sentenced after the completion of a presentence investigation report by the U.S. Probation Office.
The investigation that led to the guilty plea was conducted by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, with assistance from Waterville police.
