BANGOR, Maine — A 55-year-old man who was struck by a vehicle on Hammond Street earlier this week has died, Bangor police said Friday.

Timothy Gotto died of his injuries at Eastern Maine Medical Center on Thursday night, Bangor police Sgt. Tim Cotton said in an email.

Gotto, formerly of Mexico, Maine, had been staying in the Bangor area, according to Cotton.

The driver who struck Gotto was not injured, and the name of the driver has not been disclosed.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by Bangor police’s Accident Reconstruction Team and Criminal Investigation Division.

No charges have been filed.
