MACHIAS, Maine — Antwan Ruise made a jumper and Ben Teer sank two free throws in the final 12 seconds to help the University of Maine-Machias eke out a 64-63 men’s basketball victory over UMaine-Fort Kent on Sunday.
Ruise finished with a team-best 19 points and Teer netted 12 points for the Clippers. Floyd Higgins added eight points and five rebounds.
Joe McCloskey went 12-for-16 from the floor on his way to a game-high 28 points and pulled down eight rebounds for the Bengals. Mauro Vicic tallied 10 points.
UMFK 71, Middlebury 62
At Fort Kent on Saturday, the Bengals rattled off a 14-2 scoring run to build a 12-point second-half lead that led to a noteworthy victory over Middlebury College.
Joe McCloskey netted a game-high 20 points for the University of Maine-Fort Kent (6-10) of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. Marquis Glenn posted a double-double with 19 points and 17 rebounds and Mauro Vicic added 11 points.
The Panthers (13-3) of the New England Small College Athletic Conference, who had a nine-game winning streak halted, were paced by 20 points and 12 rebounds from Dylan Sinnickson and Hunter Merryman’s 15-point, 12-rebound performance.
Jake Brown dished out 10 assists.
Lyndon 101, Husson 85
At Newman Gym in Bangor, the Hornets torched the Eagles for 62 second-half points to pull away for a North Atlantic Conference victory.
David Johnson went 20-for-20 from the foul line en route to a game-high 32 points to propel Lyndon State (5-11, 4-6 NAC), which placed five players in double figures.
Rontrez Purcell scored 15 points and Jose Berroa tossed in 14 for the Hornets, went made 35 of 38 foul shots and outscored the Eagles by 12 points from the charity stripe. Robert Alers (7 rebounds) scored 12 points and Avery King added 11 for the winners.
Trevon Butler paced Husson (13-3, 9-1 NAC) with 27 points and seven rebounds. Raheem Anderson tossed in 19 points and Eli Itkin scored 15, while Aaron Willis posted nine points, six assists and four steals.

At Castine on Saturday, the Mariners built an 18-point halftime lead on the way to their first North Atlantic Conference win of the season.
Dylan Stevens powered Maine Maritime Academy (2-15, 1-9 NAC) with 14 points and six rebounds. Jason Hatch logged 13 points and five rebounds, Tyler Thayer tossed in 12 points and Nick Holt chipped in with 11.
Demetrius Slade led Johnson State (2-15, 2-8 NAC) with 15 points. Ron Adrian scored 12 points and Rob Hazard provided 11 for the Badgers.

At Farmington on Saturday, Cassius Belfon poured in 28 points to carry the Badgers to a NAC victory over the Beavers.
Boo Agee (8 rebounds, 7 assists) scored 15 points and Darius Winn netted 15 points for Green Mountain College (5-10, 5-5 NAC). Chris Strong and Cameron Anderson (7 rebounds, 6 blocked shots) each finished with 12 points.
Nick Hilton’s 22 points and 7 rebounds paced the University of Maine-Farmington (4-12, 3-7 NAC). Uriah Forest-Bulley posted a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds, Pet Sumner wound up with 14 points and Logan Nichols added 10 points and 7 assists.

Pavin Parrish came up with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for Castleton State (9-7, 7-3 NAC), while Rob Coloutti scored 11 points and Carnelius Green logged a double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds.
Levi Barnes led Thomas (8-9, 6-4 NAC) with 18 points, Adam Carlsen provided 17, Eric Westbrooks (9 rebounds) popped for 16 and Justin Murray churned out 10 points, 5 assists and 3 steals.

At Waterville on Saturday, Lucas Hausman connected for a game-high 24 points and registered 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals as the Polar Bears overcame a nine-point deficit to earn a NESCAC victory over the Mules.
Bryan Hurley tossed in 23 points for Bowdoin College of Brunswick (13-4, 4-1 NESCAC).
Chris Hudnut led a balanced effort for Colby (11-7, 3-2 NESCAC) with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Sam Willson provided 14 points, while Luke Westman (5 assists) and Ryan Jann (9 rebounds) added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

At Presque Isle on Saturday, Southern Maine Community College snapped a 30-30 halftime tie with a 7-0 spurt to start the second half and went on to beat UMaine-Presque Isle.
Atencio Martin recorded 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead SMCC (17-1) while Chase Soares and Carlos Gonzalez added 10 points each.
Chase Vicaire paced UMPI (9-9) with 13 points and Trevor Lovely added 11.

At Machias on Sunday, Ericka Saucier sparked a group of six double-figure scorers with 22 points and snatched nine rebounds to lead the Bengals to the win.
Sam Carapellucci provided 14 points, four assists and five steals for the University of Maine-Fort Kent while Sabrina Head logged a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds and Danielle Carillo scored 13. Bobbi Myles and Alexis Warne chipped in 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Brooklynne Lewis led UMaine-Machias with 18 points and six rebounds. Sierra Tjelmeland hit for 14 points.

At Brunswick on Saturday, Shannon Brady led a balanced offense with 18 points, with 14 coming in the second half, to help the Polar Bears edge the Mules in a NESCAC rivalry matchup.
Marle Curle had 15 points and four assists while Kate Kerrigan tallied 12 points with eight rebounds, three assists and three steals. Sara Binkhorst also scored 12 points for Bowdoin (17-2, 5-0 NESCAC).
Colby (12-5, 2-3 NESCAC) was paced by 18 points from Carylanne Wolfington, who hit six 3-pointers. Caitlyn Nolan had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

At Presque Isle, Southern Maine Community College rallied from a 15-point deficit in the second half and outscored UMaine-Presque Isle 18-0 in the last 5:48 of the game to earn the win Saturday.
Alicia Hoyt paced SMCC with 22 points while Amira Jones added 13 points and 12 rebounds. Tiana Burton chipped in with 13 points.
Darby Toth sparked UMPI with 22 points and 9 assists while Rebecca Campbell recorded her 14th straight double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Brianna Losee added 16 points.
