WELLS, Maine — The northbound lanes of the Maine Turnpike were shut down Thursday morning because of a crash involving a tractor-trailer, Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said.
The crash was reported around 8:30 a.m. around mile 16, according to McCausland. The truck was blocking all three lanes.
Carols Tells, 29, of Georgia told police he put his brakes on to avoid colliding with a vehicle in front of him, according to McCausland.
Tells was not injured and his truck only suffered minor damage. The truck was removed with assistance from a wrecker.
The road reopened shortly after 10 a.m.
