CARIBOU, Maine — Mainers looking for a break from snow woke up Thursday to no such luck, with another system moving across the state.

According to the National Weather Service’s Caribou forecast center, snow was expected to subside by Thursday afternoon, with Down East expected to be hit hardest.

Washington County, which has been hit hard by previous snowstorms, was expected to see up to 8 inches when all was said and done.

Washington County was under a winter storm warning Thursday, which was expected to be lifted Thursday afternoon.

While this event isn’t as intense as previous ones, roads remain slick throughout the state and state police are urging motorists to use caution and take their time.

According to the weather service, no snow is in the forecast for this weekend, but temperatures are expected to be frigid.
