LEBANON, Maine — Two people were arrested on Tuesday as a methamphetamine lab was uncovered in York County, according to a statement from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Dana Lovely, 39, and Carin Polk, 52, are both charged with methamphetamine trafficking, a Class B felony, according to the MDEA release.
The investigation into meth manufacturing at a Hersom Lane address had spanned about a month, according to the statement. The bust marks the third meth lab uncovered in Maine so far in 2015. Drug agents discovered 28 in 2014.
On Tuesday, a search was conducted by drug agents and state police, and evidence pertaining to meth manufacturing was located, according to the statement.
The residence was immediately secured and Lovely and Polk arrested and brought to the York County Jail.
Due to the toxic and explosive nature of meth manufacturing, the MDEA’s Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement Team was activated in order to dismantle the lab safely.
State police, Lebanon firefighters and the Maine Department of Environmental Protection assisted.
