TROY, Maine — The death of a Troy man whose body was found inside his home Saturday morning remains under investigation.

Maine Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said Monday that the death of 49-year-old Steven A. Hodgdon has not yet been categorized as suspicious or not. He said detectives continue to investigate and have kept the home off limits during that investigation.

Hodgdon was found inside his home at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday by Waldo County Sheriff’s Office deputies who had been called to the residence. Police have not revealed why they were called to the residence at 188 Rutland Road.

An autopsy was performed Sunday at the Maine Medical Examiner’s Office. Spokesman Mark Belserene said Monday the results are currently being withheld by the Attorney General’s Office.

Police said Hodgdon’s teenage son lived with him at the residence and is now living with other relatives.
