BANGOR, Maine — Bangor police are investigating a stabbing on Market Street that left one person injured, a department official said early Friday evening.
The incident, which happened at 89 Market St., was reported about 3:45 p.m. as a disturbance, according to Deputy Police Chief Brad Johnston.
Upon their arrival, city police determined that there had been a stabbing. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Information about the victim’s medical condition was not immediately released.
“This was not a random act and detectives are currently on scene investigating the incident,” Johnston said. He said the suspect and witnesses have been identified and were being interviewed by detectives Friday night.
Because the incident remained under investigation, Johnston said no further information was going to be released Friday night.
