BREWER, Maine — Members of St. Paul the Apostle Parish, which is made up of the Catholic churches in Bangor, Brewer, Hampden and Winterport, will perform a live re-enactment of the Way of the Cross Community Procession starting at 1 p.m.

The annual Palm Sunday production consisted of about 80 church members who take onlookers through Christ’s condemnation, crucifixion and death. The procession consists of prayers, readings and enactments based on the 14 traditional Stations of the Cross.

The Way of the Cross starts at St. Joseph’s Church on North Main Street in Brewer and makes its way to St. John’s Church on York Street in Bangor.

“This 1. 6 mile walk is open to all regional residents and all able are encouraged to join us,” the St. Paul the Apostle Parish website states.

The procession takes about three hours and soup and bread will be served at St. John’s immediately following.

Parking is available at St. John’s where a shuttle service will run onlookers between the two church campuses before and after the procession, the website states.

Sunday’s gathering will be the fourth annual Way of the Cross Palm Sunday Community Procession in the Bangor area.
