BANGOR, Maine — The Levant man stabbed last week on Market Street has been charged with robbery, Michael Roberts, deputy district attorney for Penobscot County, said late Wednesday afternoon.
Harry Coffin, 25, of Levant was arrested by Bangor police Wednesday afternoon, the prosecutor said.
Information about who may have stabbed Coffin has not been released.
Sgt. Tim Cotton, Bangor police spokesman, released a statement Wednesday morning before Coffin’s arrest that said: “Two suspects entered the victim’s residence armed with clubs with the intent to rob him. The robbery victim chased the two suspects off. At some point, one of the robbery suspects was stabbed.”
Coffin is being held at the Penobscot County Jail and is expected to make his first court appearance Friday, according to jail personnel.
He is the second man charged in connection with an incident Friday that allegedly began as a home invasion but ended in the street.
Roberts said he was not familiar with Coffin’s medical records but said his stab wound “was not superficial.”
Coffin’s co-defendant, Nathan Daigle, 27, of Glenburn, made his first court appearance Wednesday by videoconference at the Penobscot Judicial Center on a robbery charge.
Daigle’s bail was set at $50,000 cash. He remained Wednesday at the Penobscot County Jail unable to post bail.
The affidavit in the case was sealed Wednesday at Roberts’ request because the incident still is being investigated.
