PITTSFIELD – Normand J. “Bub” Bouffard, Jr, 45 passed away after a brief illness on April 4, 2015, with his family by his side at a Boston Hospital.
He was born on March 19, 1970, in Pittsfield, Maine, the son of Normand J. and Lorraine (McLaggan) Bouffard. He attended Pittsfield schools and was a graduate of Maine Central Institute, class of 1989. He was employed by the family business, Security Fence Company of Pittsfield, Maine, for over 25 years. He was a life-long member of the Pittsfield Driftbusters Snowmobile Club and a member of the Pittsfield Elks Lodge #2713. He was a volunteer for the Pittsfield Kiwanis Club since his early teens and helped with the annual Kiwanis Karnival each year. Snowmobiling was his passion, and he would jump on his Ski-Doo as soon as there was enough snow and would ride as long as he could, even traveling for miles up North and into Canada in search of the last rideable trails. He enjoyed riding his four wheeler, watching and attending NASCAR races, riding in his truck and stopping by to visit with friends and family. His life was dedicated to spending time with his son, Bryson. Their favorite activities were snowmobiling and riding their 4-wheelers.
He is survived by his mother, Lorraine Bouffard of Pittsfield; son, Bryson Bouffard of Dexter; 3 sisters, Annette Bouffard of Pittsfield, Mary Houston and her husband, Shawn, of Pittsfield and Kathy Kitchin and her husband, Chip, of Detroit; his nieces, Whitney Houston of Pittsfield and Ashley Kitchin of Detroit; his godson and nephew, Trevor Kitchin of Detroit; Bryson’s mother, Lisa Vaillancourt of Dexter; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, Normand, Sr; grandparents, Cecil and Erma McLaggan and Joseph and Mary Bouffard.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, April 9, at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Avenue, Pittsfield. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, April 10, at the funeral home with the Rev. Glenn Nichols officiating. A gathering will immediately follow at the Elks Lodge, 140 Middle Street in Pittsfield. A committal service will be held in the spring at the Village Cemetery, Route 220, Detroit, Maine.
