DEXTER, Maine — A local man was arrested Thursday after police learned he was growing marijuana plants inside his home.

Timothy Jacobs, 28, is facing a charge of cultivating marijuana, a Class C felony, Dexter police Chief Kevin Wintle said.

Wintle said police found 113 marijuana plants growing upon searching Jacobs’ home. Additional marijuana also was located in a mason jar.

Officer Dana Gatcomb had gone to the residence after police had gathered information Jacobs was growing the drugs, Wintle explained.

Jacobs was taken to Penobscot County Jail and later released on bail, and is scheduled to appear in court June 11.
