ROCKPORT, Maine — Three candidates have made the ballot for two seats on the town’s select board.
Incumbent Kenneth McKinley and challengers Owen Casas and John Viehman have made the June 9 ballot after turning in their nomination papers. The two available seats are for three-year terms.
The other incumbent, board Vice Chairman Charlton Ames, did not seek re-election.
Incumbent school board member Marcia Dietrich is uncontested for another term on both the School Administrative District 28 and Five-Town Community School District boards.
There will be a contested race for two seats on the library committee. Four people made the ballot — incumbent Stephanie Lash and challengers Emily Lusher, Sarah Shepherd and Eliza Haselton.
Library committee Chairman Kathleen Meil announced Monday she was not seeking re-election because she plans to run next year as a Democrat for the Maine House seat that represents Camden, Rockport and Lincolnville. Rep. Joan Welsh, D-Rockport, is in her fourth term and cannot seek re-election next year.
