GLENBURN – Eva May (Goddard) King, 82, passed peacefully April 26, 2015 at home
with her daughter Debra, Tom, Tara, Gage and Melissa at her side.
Eva was born May 17, 1932, in Millinocket to the late Edna E (Jones) Goddard and Gerald H Goddard.
She is predeceased by her brothers Delmont and Delwin, her sisters Doreen
Comeau and Geraldine Ward, her son Kevin and her husband of 65 years, Robert King. She will be sadly missed by her seven children and their families, Robert King Goddard, Debra Hummel and Tom, Gerald King and Raymond, James and Sharon King, Michael and Patty King, Patrick and
Katrina King, and Serena Reilly. She will be remembered by her grandchildren and step grandchildren Bobby, Bobbie-Jo, Joe, Tara, Gage, Jeannie, Melissa, Susie, Shirley Ann, Roberta, Savannahann, David, Lisa, Tera, Mike, Jamiey, Patrick Jr, Shane, Krit, Carrie, Colby, Shawn, Bobby,
Korena, Bobby, Thomas and her great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Eva was raised in Milo, Maine where she got the nickname of “little iodine”
and worked as a young girl. She met the love of her life, Robert King, and
they were married. She had 8 children and life was not always easy for her.
She was young and did what she needed to do. Her choices were not always
the best and she realized that. She would sit and remember the ups and downs that she had with each of her children and wish that she could go back and change that, but she couldn’t. Near the end of her life she gained a lot of insight to the past.
To all of my children, I am truly sorry. To all of my grandchildren, I am truly sorry. There were no special children or
grandchildren and I realized that too late. I love you all, so please understand that I know of your sadness and hurt as I have carried it with me for so long. I know that you are all strong and realize we can not turn back time. I
am closing the final chapter in my life with no more hurt, anger or pain. I
have loved you all. Finally, there is a special young man that helped to take
care of me these past few months. He made me laugh with joy and I want to
say to him I love you Jacob. Thank you for helping GG take care of me.
Eva’s family would like to thank the staff of St. Josephs Hospital especially
Dr. Picone, Teresa, Dianne and Cindy Leiffer for their guidance and
thoughtful care.
At Eva’s request there will be no services.
A celebration of Robert and Evas life will be planned and notices will be
published.
