BANGOR – Colleen Foley Bickford, 64, died April 29, 2015, with her loving family at her side. She fought a courageous fight and went the distance against her illness. She was born July 17, 1950, in Bangor, Maine, the daughter of Richard K. and Pauline (Augherton) Foley.
Colleen graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1968, and attended Husson College. Colleen was a dedicated employee of Eastern Maine Medical Center for the last 42 years. Colleen loved to travel with her family, working in the garden, and spending time with her beloved dog, Baxter.
Predeceased by her parents, she is survived by two daughters, Traci M. Flaster of Mooresville, N.C., and Melissa L. Bickford and “son-in-law,” Stuart L. Fongemie of Bangor. The light of her life were her two grandchildren, Drew and Ryan Flaster of Mooresville, N.C.; one brother, Richard K. Foley and wife, Patricia, of Bangor; two nieces and one nephew, who predeceased her. Mom had too many special friends to name, but found joy in all of them. The family would like to honor the dedicated staff at EMMC that cared for mom on her journey.
