BANGOR, Maine — A Sidney man will spend the next seven years behind bars for a September 2014 pharmacy robbery in Augusta, the U.S. attorney’s office announced Wednesday.

Dominic Pomerleau, 22, will also serve three years of supervised release once he completes his prison term.

He was sentenced in U.S. District Court on Wednesday by Judge John Woodcock Jr.

Pomerleau had attempted to rob the Rite Aid on North Belfast Avenue last Sept. 2, handing a pharmacist a note indicating he had a gun and demanding prescription drugs.

Pomerleau left the store without getting any contraband, but 20 minutes later, he held up the Hospital Street Rite Aid, getting away with three bottles of oxycodone.
