WESTBROOK, Maine — A man with a black bandana covering his face stole money Saturday night from a Westbrook convenience store, and police are asking for the public’s help to find him.
The man did not show a weapon during the robbery at Art’s Variety on Spring Street, which occurred around 9:15 p.m., according to a news release issued Sunday by the Westbrook Police Department. After getting the cash, the man got into a black, four-door vehicle that was parked on the Glenwood Avenue side of the store and “fled the scene,” police said. The vehicle might have had a vanity license plate.
Police described the suspect as a white male, approximately 5’8” and 190 pounds with scruffy facial hair. He was wearing khaki pants and a black hooded jacket.
Anyone with information concerning this robbery, the suspect or vehicle is asked to call the Westbrook Police Department at 854-0644 or the anonymous crime tip hotline at 591-8177.
