FALMOUTH, Maine — Firefighters say a fire reportedly from a grill burned a home Sunday afternoon.
Crews responded a report from the homeowner that the grill set off a fire on Brookside Drive just before 5 p.m. No one was hurt, but the back of the home near the deck was heavily damaged.
Falmouth Fire Chief Howard Rice Jr. said it’s that time of year that people need to be especially careful about grilling. “A lot of people are going to be grilling. One, never leave the grill unattended and two, make sure it’s away from the house, not underneath any overhang,” Rice said.
