WARREN, Maine — Selectmen voted Friday afternoon to hire a new town manager for the next 12 months.
Robin Bennett was hired as interim manager, said Arnold Hill, the chairman of the Board of Selectmen. He said Bennett could continue on past a year, but the current agreement is for one year at a pay of $73,000.
Bennett previously was the town manager in Brandon, Vermont, for two years.
According to an article in the Rutland (Vermont) Herald, Bennett resigned her position effective March 9 after termination negotiations between her attorney and the town. The reasons for her departure were not made public, according to the newspaper.
Hill said Bennett is from Maine and wanted to return to the area.
Bennett had served as town manager in Southwest Harbor for four years until she resigned in June 2011 after reaching a mutual agreement with the selectmen.
Bennett also had reached a termination agreement with Barre, Vermont, officials in August 2006, according to the Barre Montpelier Times Argus.
