PORTLAND, Maine — Portland police are searching for a man who reportedly robbed and assaulted another Portland man Tuesday afternoon in the area of Lancaster and Chestnut streets.
The alleged victim, a 43-year-old man, reported that an approximately 30-year-old black man, about 6 feet tall with a slender or thin build and short dreadlocks approached him, struck the area of his torso and took money the alleged victim was holding in his hand before fleeing, Portland Police Lt. James Sweatt said in a news release.
Blood on the alleged victim’s clothing led police to determine he suffered a cut, and the man was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated and released.
No further information was immediately available.
