ROCKLAND, Maine — A New York man suffered minor injuries Wednesday morning when he was struck by a truck downtown.
According to Rockland police, Jeffrey Taylor of Cushing had stopped at a stop sign on School Street before turning left onto Main Street.
As he turned, Lada Simek of New York stepped off the curb and started to cross the road in front of the turning vehicle. Simek was not in a crosswalk, according to police.
The truck struck Simek in the leg. Rockland Emergency Medical Services personnel arrived and took him to Pen Bay Medical Center with minor leg injuries.
The incident occurred about 10 a.m.
