OLD TOWN, Maine — A man and a woman arrested in a May robbery in Old Town were expected to have a bail hearing on Friday afternoon.
Alexander Justice, 23, of Bangor and Katie Ireland, 24, of Lincoln are both charged with robbery in an incident in which a man was robbed and beaten on College Avenue.
Old Town police Capt. Lee Miller said the victim was riding in a vehicle with Justice, Ireland and another man. Ireland was the driver.
When the vehicle stopped on the side of the road so a man could use the bathroom, Justice allegedly held a knife to the victim’s throat and told him to give him his stuff, according to Miller.
The victim handed over his shoes, cellphone, hat, chain and knife, and Justice allegedly began punching the man in the face.
Justice and Ireland took off after seeing another vehicle coming down the road, leaving the victim bloodied in the street, Miller said. He was treated for his injuries at Eastern Maine Medical Center.
Miller said Ireland is also charged with robbery because she did not do anything to prevent the attack.
