School supplies drive

BUCKSPORT — Mary Elsa Theobald and Rebecca Berry are moms who saw a need for school supplies for district schools and came up with a solution — a school supply drive to benefit all schools in the district. Theobald and Berry are collecting school supplies to be evenly disturbed to all Bucksport schools during the 2015-2016 school year. The drive will continue through Wednesday, Aug. 19. Already more than 161 people have joined in the drives, said Berry in an email. “Our town is famous for coming together in good times and bad,” she said.

Drop-off locations in Bucksport are The Alamo Theatre, BookStacks, Buck Memorial Library and Bucksport Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. Those who wish to participate are asked to collect items over the summer and drop them off at the designated site when convenient.

Basic items needed are No. 2 pencils, erasers, glue in bottles and sticks, notebooks, highlighters, pens, rulers, crayons, colored pencils, scissors, markers and tissues.
