FRIENDSHIP, Maine — A Thomaston man awaits his initial court appearance Friday on charges that he punched a woman, trashed her living room and slashed her tires in front of her.
Gregory S. Prior, 44, was arrested Wednesday evening on charges of burglary, aggravated criminal trespass, domestic violence assault and criminal mischief. Police had been looking for him since the alleged crimes occurred June 26.
The victim said Prior, who she had been dating, had been trying to call her throughout the day while she was out and she had not returned his calls, according to an affidavit filed in court by Knox County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Paul Pinkham. When she arrived home, Prior jumped out of the bushes and punched her in the face and then punctured all four of the tires on her vehicle, according to the affidavit.
The deputy said the woman had a black-and-blue swollen eye when he arrived. Her living room also had been trashed by Prior, according to the affidavit.
Bail for Prior was set at $5,000 cash pending his appeared in Knox County Unified Court in Rockland on Friday afternoon.
