AUGUSTA, Maine — Police are searching for a woman and a man in connection with the Tuesday morning robbery of Grondin’s Dry Cleaning.

The robbery was reported shortly after 11:30 a.m., according to Augusta police Lt. Christopher Massey.

Massey said the pair allegedly entered the establishment and the female suspect asked an employee about what types of services Grondin’s offers before they exited.

Shortly after, the woman came back in and handed an employee a threatening note, demanding cash. Massey said the employee subsequently handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, and the woman fled the store, and met up with her male accomplice.

Massey said the pair fled to the Winthrop Street area but were not located.

The woman stands 5 feet 1 inch tall with a thin build and long straight black hair. She is in her early 20s and was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

The man is 5 feet 8 inches tall, has a medium build with long curly hair over his eyes and was wearing a brown short sleeve button-up shirt and tan cargo shorts.

Anyone with information on the robbery should call Augusta police at 626-2381.
