BANGOR, Maine — Harlow Street was briefly closed to traffic Tuesday morning because of a gas leak near the Bangor Public Library, according to the Bangor Fire Department.

According to information posted on the department’s Twitter page, a 2-inch natural gas line was struck shortly after 7 a.m.

The fire department reported shortly after 8 a.m. that the leak was under control and Harlow Street was reopened to traffic.
