YouTube personality Derek Klingenberg posted a video Monday where he apparently catches a bluegill out of a pond using a drone.

He then pilots the DJI Phantom 2 quadcopter back to shore, where he, naturally, takes a Snapchat selfie with the suspended fish.

Klingenberger told Popular Science that he used a rubber worm, and it took about 10 minutes to catch this fish.

Now, no one is saying this is actually a better — or even good — way to fish. As Popular Science points out, the drone can only fly for 25 minutes at a time, and it costs around $500.

It’s the latest example of applying technology to a pastime that doesn’t really need it.

In June we wrote about how a San Diego company invented a drone fish finder that can also carry your bait out past the breakers.

And then there was the app that tells you when you get a strike.

Just because you can do something does not mean that you should.
