BANGOR, Maine — M.J. Sellars and Hannah Smith each scored a goal to help give the Brewer Witches a 2-0 high school field hockey victory over the Bangor Rams Tuesday at Bangor’s High School field.
Sellars scored in the first half and Smith converted a goal set up by Mariah Carlson in the second half.
Brewer goalie Michele Mayberry finished with three saves on five shots while Bangor goalie Kahia Maheux made six saves on 11 shots.
It was the first win of the season for the Witches, now 1-2. Bangor slipped to 0-2.

Foxcroft 2, Old Town 1
At Dover-Foxcroft, Ali Bourget and Abi Bourget each scored a first-half goal as the Ponies improved to 3-0.
Abi Bourget and Becca Anderson notched assists for Foxcroft Academy and Madison Chadbourne made two saves on three shots. The Ponies had 26 corners to four for the Coyotes.
Jia-xi Liin scored off an Olivia King assist for Old Town. Corinne Saucier made 11 saves on 13 shots.
Skowhegan 3, Hampden 0
At Hampden, Skowhegan received three second-half goals from three different scorers to beat the Broncos.
Julia Steeves, Riley Mullen, and Cassidy Clemet each scored for the Indians (2-1). Goalie Leah Kruse did not face a shot.
Goalie Ruby Ramsay made 22 saves on 25 shots for the Broncos (2-1).

Belfast 4, Spruce Mountain 0
At Belfast, Kylie Nelson recorded a hat trick with three unassisted goals to help the Lions blank Spruce Mountain of Jay.
Victoria Curtis added a goal on Sabrina Wood’s assist for 2-1 Belfast.
Belfast goalie Morgan Fernald made two saves on three shots. Grace Ryan of Spruce Mountain (2-1) faced 14 shots and made six saves.
