EASTPORT, Maine — Maine State Police continue to investigate a “suspicious death” in Eastport and are expected to issue a news release Monday, according to Eastport police Chief Frances LaCoute.
LaCoute said Saturday afternoon state police investigators had recently left her office but could offer no further details on the death of the man whose body was found Thursday night at a home on Clark Street.
Eastport police found the body at about 10 p.m. The Eastport police had received a call requesting they check on the residence, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said Friday in a prepared statement.
The man’s body was taken to the state medical examiner’s office in Augusta where an autopsy was to be performed, McCausland said.
The man’s identity still has not been released. No further details were available Saturday.
