PORTLAND, Maine — A Harpswell woman pleaded guilty in federal court Friday to embezzling more than $100,000 while serving as head bank teller at a Bank of Maine branch in Brunswick.

Cecile Roux, 38, faces up to 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine, according to a release from U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II.

Between April 12, 2012, and Aug. 14, 2015, Roux transferred $107,000 in a series of transactions from a customer’s account into her own account without authority, according to the release.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Brunswick Police Department.

Roux will be sentenced after completion of a presentence investigation by the U.S. Probation Office.

Camden National Bank recently completed its acquisition of Bank of Maine.
