BRUNSWICK — Four Brunswick-area teens face charges that include burglary and criminal mischief after allegedly stealing golf balls from a Brunswick golf club, then throwing them out a car, striking an oncoming vehicle and damaging its windshield.

Police were called to Jonathan Street off Harpswell Road just after 8 p.m. Wednesday, after a woman reported her vehicle had been struck by a golf ball while she was driving toward Brunswick on Harpswell Road, Brunswick police Cmdr. Marc Hagan said.

The woman told police she turned the car around and followed the 2006 Nissan Sentra along Harpswell Road, then onto Jonathan Street, where she reported that the driver turned the corner fast enough to drive onto a lawn and hit a tree before stopping at a dead end, according to Hagan.

The woman and her male passenger used her vehicle to block the Sentra and called 911.

The teens attempted to throw the remaining golf balls, which they allegedly stole after breaking into a building at Mere Creek Golf Course at the former Brunswick Naval Air Station, out the window before officers arrived.

Police also allegedly found a bottle of Jagermeister in the Sentra.

The 17-year-old driver from Freeport was charged with criminal mischief and criminal liability for allegedly taking part in the burglary but not entering the building as well as illegal transportation of liquor by a minor. She was summonsed and released to her parents.

Erik Fye, 19, of Brunswick was charged with felony burglary, criminal mischief and theft. He was taken to Cumberland County Jail in Portland. Bail was set at $310, and Fye is scheduled to appear in Portland Superior Court on Jan. 19, 2016.

Caleb Donaldson, 18, of Brunswick was summonsed for criminal liability and criminal mischief and released to his parents.

A 16-year-old from Brunswick was charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor theft and taken to Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland.
