BANGOR, Maine — Bangor police are investigating a bomb threat made to Eastern Maine Medical Center late Monday morning, Lt. Cathy Rumsey confirmed.
Though few details were released about the situation, Rumsey provided a statement Monday afternoon by a hospital spokesman.
“Late this morning, EMMC received a vague bomb threat,” Andy Soucier said. “While there is no specific danger to our patients, visitors, or employees, EMMC takes this threat seriously. We are working closely with the Bangor Police Department to investigate the threat, and have taken several extra precautions, including an increased security and police presence.
“All EMMC services are expected to remain open during their usual hours,” he said.
